Pat Testing Association

Electrical test labels are placed on each appliance after they have been PAT tested. Firstly, the electrical appliance is visually inspected by a PAT testing engineer to make sure that there are no immediate damages. This is then followed by an earth continuity test, lead polarity and insulation resistance checks. after each appliance is electrically tested a label is placed so that it is visible on the appliance. This is usually done by having a green sticker stuck on if the electrical appliances have passed the electrical tests and a red one if it has failed. if an appliance has failed, then the PAT testing engineer will recommend you remove the item and have it replaced to make sure it is no longer used.
