I am a homeowner and was made aware that I needed to have an electrical test done as I haven’t had one done in a very long time. So, I reached out to the PAT Testing Association to set up a visit with a PAT tester to my home. In my home I have a washing machine, tumble dryer, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, kettle, iron, 2 laptop cables and mobile phone chargers. I was informed that these electrical appliances are the most dangerous and need to have a full PAT test carried out. The PAT tester came and conducted several electrical tests on each electrical appliance, giving each appliance a sticker if it had passed or failed the tests. My microwave had been showing signs that it is not working, so when the PAT test was conducted, the microwave failed and it was issued a red sticker. The PAT tester recommended that I have the microwave removed and buy another as it was too dangerous to use. Once the electrical tests were completed, I was given a certificate with all the results displayed. It was a quick and easy service that ensured that my home was electrically safe. I will be using the PAT testing service from the PAT Testing Association again in the future, thank you!
