How do you get a pat test certificate? In order to get one, you need to have a pat test done on your electrical items.
What is PAT testing?
A pat test involves the testing of electrical equipment ensuring that they are safe to use. The pat test includes firstly a visual inspection, followed by an earth continuity test, lead polarity and insulation resistance checks.
After each electrical appliance is pat tested, a sticker is issued which shows if it has passed or failed. This is shown by a green sticker if the appliance has passed and a red sticker if the appliance has failed the pat test.
If an electrical appliance has failed the pat test, then the PAT testing engineer will recommend that you have the appliance replaced immediately if it is a harm to yourself and others.
Once the pat test is completed, you will be given a certificate which will have all the results which you can keep as evidence.
