All portable appliances need to be pat tested. So, any appliance which has a cable or plug and socket should be pat tested.
Electrical appliances are also split into different classes with Class 1 appliances needing a full pat test and Class 2 appliances only needing an insulation test.
Examples of Class 1 appliances are:
