To carry out PAT testing the PAT testing engineer must have the training to carry out the testing on the electrical appliances. This is because:
– They know what equipment to use for the PAT testing
– They know how to use the equipment correctly to produce correct results
– They will be able to interpret the results for you and advise you on anything you may need advice on.
– They will have an understanding of the hazards that can happen during the PAT testing
It is important that the person carrying out the PAT testing has the required training as if they don’t this may mean that the appliances will not be checked properly. If electrical appliances are not checked correctly, this may be dangerous to employees and visitors.
