Pat Testing Association

PAT testing involves the checking of electrical appliances to ensure that they are safe to use. PAT testing is done by a PAT tester, who is someone that has the required electrical training and knowledge. This is because they:

Know what equipment to use to carry out the PAT test

Know how to use the equipment correctly

Can interpret the results to you

The PAT tester will test each electrical appliance firstly with a visual inspection, followed by an earth continuity test, a lead polarity test and insulation resistance checks. Each electrical appliance will be issued with a sticker indicating if it has passed or failed the test. A certificate will then be issued at the end with all the results presented on it which the PAT tester will be able to go through with you if you have any questions.

These are people we at the PAT Testing Association can help provide you with.
